The Rayalaseema Skill Development Center
In the year 2012, a village-based counseling and training center was established with a mission to train the village youth for their higher education and employment. The youth of the village are trained on various skill sets required for today’s job market, offering hands-on training programs in IT, non-IT, and trade sectors. The skill development center is a state-of-art facility in 20,000 square feet on a 4-acre campus. The Rayalaseema Skill Development Center was later renamed as Parvati Ramakrishna Reddy Society for Rural Development.
In addition to technical grooming, the Skill Development Center offers courses in spoken English, computer training, and soft skills. The center signed an MOU with the Andhra Pradesh State Skill Development Corporation (APSSDC). After the initial 3-month training in the year 2015, 90 trained engineering graduates were offered to the technology industry. The center celebrated its first success with 60 job offers in top IT companies like HCL, Capgemini, TCS, Virtusa, etc.
In July 2015, the Rayalaseema Skill Development Center conducted a mega job mela in association with the AP IT Academy (APITA), where top non-IT and e-commerce companies recruited people from nearby villages. The programs launched by the Skill Development Center were instrumental in diminishing poverty, breaking stereotypes, and stabilizing the economy.
